Poseidon – Lord of the Seas with Trident
Poseidon – one of the three most powerful gods of Olympus, lord of the seas, oceans and all the waters of the world, brother of Zeus and Hades – portrayed here in a monumental and commanding pose. In his right hand he holds his eternal attribute, an ornately engraved trident with which, according to myth, he stirred the waves, parted the waters and shook the earth itself. The upper half of his form reveals the muscular figure of the bearded god, his thick wavy hair flowing freely and his gaze severe and contemplative; the lower half flows into a powerful fish tail covered in meticulously sculpted scales, rising from a swirl of foaming waves. Around him surge the breakers of the sea, jagged rocks and clusters of coral, and at his feet a plaque bears the inscription "POSEIDON." The entire sculpture is handcrafted, which makes every piece truly one of a kind – subtle differences in patina, depth of shadow, and the interplay of copper and blue tones in the waves ensure that each figure carries the individual trace of the artist's hand. The body of the god is finished in a cool, silvery-bronze patina that brings out every anatomical detail and the tension of the musculature, while the tail glows with warm, copper hues that contrast beautifully with the turquoise-blue reflections of the sea foam. Every scale, every strand of the beard, and every cresting wave has been worked with the precision of a true collector's piece. This is a sculpture with a strong, dignified presence – ideal for a private study, a library, an elegant living room, or the desk of an enthusiast of mythology, classical art, or maritime legend. It brings the atmosphere of primal elemental power into any interior, evoking depth, mystery, and the unshakeable authority of nature, becoming an object that is not merely decorative but profoundly symbolic – for those who value a presence that is distinct, contemplative, and timeless.
